I Am Alive
I close my eyes 
I feel the warmth of the sun
seeping through my skin
soaking up the darkness
and rescuing my breath
The gentle breeze
kisses my body
leaving every cell alert
and inspired
and praised
with calmness
The waves rock
back and forth
past my ankles
cleansing my thoughts
with every pull
The salty air
awakens
the sleeping taste buds
of my soul
leaving them excited
and renewed
And then 
I hear the birds
Ahh…… the birds
their soft cries sooth me
echo in my chambers
they strengthen
the beat of my heart
with every sound
I sigh
And then I realize
I am
the bird
my sigh 
their song
being carried
effortlessly
by the wind
I am alive
